Our first week!

This week has been a whirlwind! We are all getting adjusted to the routine and the kiddos are handling it like champs. We started off the first day by getting to know each other and establishing our rules and procedures. To break the ice a bit the students learned a little cup routine from the movie, Pitch Perfect.
They had to follow instructions from a video and then work together to make sure everyone at their table understood how to perform the routine. It was quite entertaining!!

We also made a birthday pictograph this week. Each student got a cake to place on the graph above their birthday month. We spent part of our class time in the hallway making observations about our graph. The students then learned about frequency tables and created their own frequency table using the information from the birthday pictograph.
Next, the students will learn about dot plots and transfer the information into a dot plot.

They have jumped right into our learning feet first and are rocking it so far! I am absolutely loving getting to know all of these amazing children everyday. Thank you for sharing them with me!
