Strategies:
*Creating equal groups
*Using multiplication and division fact families
*Skip counting on a number line
*Repeated subtraction
The students do not use remainders in 3rd grade. Point out real world examples to your child as they come up so they can build a stronger connection of applying division to their daily life. It really helps to build on their knowledge of multiplication facts! For example 30 divided by 5: We know 5x6=30, so 30 divided by 5 is 6!
